Centre for Equity and Human Rights Performance – January 19th, 2012

We had wonderful experience with the Percussimo team. They were extremely accommodating of our needs and were a wonderful addition to our conference. The facilitators did a wonderful job of creating synergy and cohesion among the participants, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed having the chance to explore and try out the various instruments as well. Overall – two thumbs up!

National Defence Administration Diversity Event Performance – March 30th, 2011

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Percussimo in support of the DND ADM(Mat) Diversity Event on March 30, 2011. Thanks to the magic of African hand drums and to Percussimo’s talents, this event was a tremendous success. Your performance helped to communicate the goal of this awareness effort to provide a venue for Material Group employees to learn about different cultures, generations and backgrounds. We have truly enjoyed your energizing performance.

Again, on behalf of the occupants, many thanks in sharing your capacity and flair improving the well-being of our employees at the Diversity Event at Louis St-Laurent building.

Gary Marshall,

Dear Louis,

I wanted to pass on my sincere gratitude to you and your colleagues for the enormous contribution that you made to our organization this year.

As you know, we had the great pleasure of your participation and leadership in three diverse events:

  • Annual Employee Recognition Event
  • Annual Leaders’ Retreat
  • Annual Christmas Party

I must say that the feedback from our employees and managers at all levels was positive and enthusiastic.  You provided a playful, productive and dynamic injection of energy, fun and learning at all three of our events.  Your facilitation, performance and instruction were masterful.

Thank you most sincerely to you and your team!

Public Safety Canada Leadership Workshop – December 2010

We are part of the Living Leadership program in which 30 executives participate. The 30 executives were broken down into five teams called Action Learning Groups. Each Action Learning Group is to lead a Wellness Exercise with a leadership theme. Our group was the first to prepare a Wellness Exercise, and we invited Percussimo to deliver a 30-minute leadership-themed session at our Living Leadership program this past December 2010. It was a resounding success.

Mr. Mbani provided instruments to 30+ people in a room and demonstrated how leadership can be expressed in anything we do and how important it is for the leader to show leadership. He led us through a session and had a metronome lead us through another session. Since the metronome is an inanimate object, it was difficult for 30+ people to follow and we sounded desperately out of tune. However, when Mr. Mbani led, we were able to sound like an orchestra! It was so well received that many of our colleagues felt we set the bar far too high for the next Wellness Exercise. Well done Percussimo!

Congratulations Percussimo! Your performance at our Employee Recognition Event was spectacular!

Over 350 employees were treated to a superb display of drumming by your very talented team. Accolades from employees include comments such as ‘best ever’ and ‘amazing’.

We were fortunate to have you at our event and we look forward to another Percussimo activity in the Fall.

I highly recommend Percussimo to any organization wishing to promote diversity, teamwork and, of course, fun.

Re: Employee workshop

Mr Mbani,

On behalf of the employees of the Caisse Desjardins de Masham-Luskville, I am writing to thank you for the wonderful workshop that you treated us to. It was highly motivating and now, a month later, the concept of the surprise effect still comes up in conversation among our group.

We would be very happy to work with you again in the future.

Yours truly,

BNI – Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec Region – October 5th, 2009

Louis Mbani was the first of six speakers at our October 2009 midterm training session. The drumming action broke down barriers and participants felt more relaxed and communicative from the very beginning of the session. This in itself was quite impressive as our training starts bright and early at 7 a.m. sharp. Louis Mbani’s personality and teaching ability compelled the group to participate wholeheartedly and with an open mind from the very first minute. Between short sessions of drumming, he interjected important concepts. The meaning and the importance of the TEAM was clearly defined.

After being part of Louis Mbani’s workshop, the participants were definitely receptive to the remainder of the presenters. Each workshop leader commented on how Louis had managed to get them all on the same wave length for this semi-annual training.

Louis’ charming, friendly yet effective and far reaching words made this year’s training session one of the highest in energy yet. We will definitely refer Louis Mbani to fellow directors and to anyone who is interested in motivating, building or focusing their team’s energy.

Re: Tam Tam du bien être Workshop

Bonjour Louis,

I am more than satisfied with your workshop. I have to admit that I was quite surprised by your performance and your ability to entertain the participants.

I very much enjoyed your approach and the ease with which you convinced people to express themselves. I knew several of the people there, and I was astonished to see them so content and willing to participate. You could tell just by the look on their faces that they were happy to be there and to leave their work behind temporarily.

I have received several very good comments and people have mentioned that they would like to keep this activity going. Here are some of the comments I took down:

The hand drumming workshop was exceptional. I loved it and hope to sign up for the next one in January. Thanks for a great initiative!

What a great idea! Highly creative and innovative. I felt good during the djembe part of the workshop – it was like being in therapy!

Thanks for inviting us to the wonderful activity. I knew nothing about djembe before the workshop but now I feel that I have discovered something that will become a pastime for life.

Thanks again, Louis, for your good work and solid professionalism.
